c1970 Unknown Jane Matthews writes: She was remarkable. She was an editor for the Houston Chronicle after building the engraving company she and Dad had. When they divorced , she became part of the Houston Ad Club writing their news publication "Ad VEnts " for fifty years. She became an inhouse editor for the Houston Club magazine "The Clubber" for over twenty years. When she retired, the Houston Fedration for Advertising set aside $150,000 in her name for students majoring in communications. It is called "The Alice B. Rogers Scholarship". All these years, we three girls saw her as a mother who was at every piano recital, concert, swim match, dance recital, scout meeting and party we had.
