Unknown Houston, Harris County, Texas Martha Emily (Day) Davis, daughter of Isaiah Cates Day and Martha Caroline Munson, had a house in Dayton and one in Houston where the Brown Convention center is now. She was called "Mattie" by her friends and family, and "Pet" by those who worked for her Day family. Her father is considered the founder of Dayton Texas which was first called "Day's Town".
