Jane Matthews writes: Joseph William Davis and his wife, Martha Emily Day, daughter of Martha Caroline Munson. Her family called her "Mattie", She was the granddaughter of Micajah and Elizabeth Everett Munson, and my great grandmother. I remember her eyes were dark (Most of us have light blue eyes). Here they are in Saratoga Florida at the races. Joe Davis has just won and given her diamond earrings as a gift. Her dress is from Worth's in Paris. Her hair is an attached fringe, the style at that time.
