Bryan Cahill Munson, Private First Class, U.S. Marine Corps, son of Joseph Waddy Munson II and Myrtle Seymour Bryan. Bryan died 30 July 1945 when the U.S.S. Indianapolis was struck by a Japanese torpedo in the Philippine Sea while en route to the Leyte Gulf. At the Manila Amerian Cemetery, Manila, Philippines, his is among the Tablets of the Missing. He was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
